The Gua Sha

The gua sha is made with moss agate; ethically sourced in
Indonesia by an artisanal miner and extracted with hand tools in the
crevices of volcanic formations. Our custom-designed gua sha board is
then crafted in small batches by our artisan in the same locality.

This meditation was co-created with Chelsea Bakke, a multidisciplinary healing practitioner, and Joshua Stoddard, a renowned sound bath artist.

Chelsea Bakke is an extensively trained holistic healing practitioner and seasoned spa therapist. She is a certified Usui Tibetan Reiki Master, Shambala Healing Practitioner, Science of Breath Practitioner, Doula, and licensed Massage Therapist. She has completed masters courses in Mind Body Psychology and is Sat Nam Rasayan certified.

Chelsea loves to blend creativity, science, and ancient healing to create soul charged experiences for the senses. She is often creating spa experiences for The Spa at the Four Season's Hotel St. Louis where she is a therapist and practitioner. She has a genuine love for connecting others to their true nature of wholeness.

Joshua Stoddard is a master mixer of melodic soundscapes. He has over 20 years experience in the music industry, in various roles from audio engineer, to New York City DJ (where he developed an ear and awareness for creating musical journeys to connect with people), and now creates calming aural experiences that focus on recentering and recharging the mind and body. He utilizes a blend of vocal and instrumental tools, including, but not limited to, quartz crystal bowls, guitar, synthesizer, and shruti box.

Painterly patterns of stone recall surreal landscapes of water, forest, and lava.  This unusual Gua Sha can be applied to the face, scalp, neck, chest and arms. Each piece is one-of-a-kind.

The practice of using gua sha increases blood flow to the treated area, aids lymphatic circulation to remove toxins, and can be used to relax muscle tension. The pointed end of the tool can also be applied in reflexology and acupressure methods.
